Mental illness pulses through Mickey’s family tree. We meet Lucy first as a child as she sees Death for the first time. Books by Ka Hancock. It’s that healing type of love that keeps on giving.

I had no idea it would touch the NICU nurse in me, the petrified mother in me, the small town girl, the at-odds with dananndo family girl, the everyone in me. I’ll be watching for more from Ka Hancock. Having lost loved ones to cancer, I also thought that her description of the heartbreak and even strange joys of that ordeal rang absolutely true.
